Keeping a character the same in every shot

Save a person, product or mascot once and every model that takes reference pictures will keep it consistent.

Each picture or clip is made from scratch, so a person described twice in words will rarely look the same twice. Reference pictures fix that.

Make a character

Open Characters, give it a name and a short description, and add up to six pictures. No photos yet? Press Make 4 to draw some from the description, and keep the ones that look right.

Good reference pictures are clear, evenly lit and taken from a few angles. For products, include the side with the label or logo.

Use it

Pick the character in the picture studio, the video generator or a Director project. The pictures are sent to the model along with a line that tells it to keep the character exactly as shown.

Not every video model accepts reference pictures. When one doesn't, the studio tells you, and you can make a picture of the character first and animate it with Image to Video.
